<\/p>

*All the departments\/units must design an internship programme during the second semester of Level IV covering 300 hours for the students to earn 3 credits. At the end of the internship, the report will be assessed and marks would be allocated. The internship placements can be found under different categories: industrial placement, social placement and job placement.<\/p>

Criteria for Award of Degrees<\/u><\/strong><\/span><\/p>

Requirements for awarding Bachelor of Arts Degree <\/u><\/em><\/strong><\/span><\/p>

A student who deemed to have qualities for the award of Bachelor of Arts is he\/she satisfied the following requirements. <\/em><\/p>

  • Obtaining grade C or above in all ESL Course Units (Enhancement Course Units) which amounts to 18 credits.<\/em><\/li>
  • Obtaining grade C- or above in all Core and Elective Course Units which amounts to 72 credits.<\/em><\/li>
  • Earning the overall GPA greater than or equal to 2.0 in all the course units excluding Auxiliary Course Units. <\/em><\/li>
  • Obtaining grade D+ or above in Auxiliary Course Units <\/em><\/li>
  • Fulfilled the entire requirement mentioned above, within a maximum of 6 academic years from the academic year of the original enrolment in the University other than approved medical withdrawal.<\/em><\/li><\/ul>

    Requirement for awarding Bachelor of Arts Honours Degree<\/u><\/em><\/strong><\/span><\/p>

    A student who deemed to have qualified for the award of Bachelor of Arts (Honours) if he\/she satisfied the following requirements. <\/em><\/p>

    • Obtaining grade C- or above in all Core Units (102 credits)<\/em><\/li>
    • Earning the overall GPA greater than or equal to 2.0 in all the course units excluding Auxiliary Course Units. <\/em><\/li>
    • Obtaining grade D+ or above in Auxiliary Course Units. <\/em><\/li>
    • Fulfilled the entire requirements mentioned above, within a maximum of 7 academic years to Honours degree program from the academic year of original enrolment in the University other than approved medical withdrawal<\/em>.<\/li><\/ul>

      Award of Class<\/u><\/em><\/strong><\/span><\/p>

      A student who followed the three year degree programme and has fulfilled the requirements for the award of the General Degree within three consecutive academic years, and a student who followed the four year Degree Programme who has fulfilled the requirements for the award of the Honours degree within four consecutive academic years, from the first academic year of registration, other than valid approved reason\/s approved by the Senate, shall be awarded Class on the following basis. <\/em><\/p>

      The Overall GPA for the award of the class is to be calculated excluding all Auxiliary Course Units and the Enhancement Course Units except \u2018English for Career Development \u2013 I and II\u2019 of BA and BA Hons Degree Programmes.<\/em><\/p>

      The Effective Date of Degree<\/u><\/em><\/strong><\/span><\/p>

      The effective date of Degree shall be the last date of the stipulated examination period on which Level III\/Level IV Second Semester Examination concludes, for BA. and BA. (Hons.) respectively. For repeat candidates, the effective date of the Degree shall be the last date of completion of the respective examination.<\/em><\/p>

      Opting and Exiting the Degree Programmes<\/u><\/em><\/strong><\/span><\/p>

      Fall back option, that is, a Honours degree student who is unable to complete the Four years Honours Degree programme in his\/her forth year may apply to opt for a three-year General Degree programme with the approval of the Senate such applicants could be awarded the General Degree if he\/she satisfies the following conditions<\/em><\/p>
